Thanks

Wow, based on the emails and number of hits this first week I think people are happy with this site. I'm glad everyone is getting their "homework" done during the break. As soon as you are back to the books in January the journey will seem so much shorter now. There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Please keep up the feedback, it is so valuable.

Site Updates

The related links have been updated with a few more sites that need to be explored. One offers an overview of college costs and will be very helpful in deciding how many courses you will HAVE to find alternative credit for. I urge everyone to explore all of the links just to familiarize yourself with as many aspects as possible in this method of earning a degree.

Happy Holidays!

Free Courses to Get Started

If you are not sure where to start check out the free courses on the related links section of quickdegree.info. This way you can get your feet wet without a monetary committment. It's also a good way to find out what online learning is about and how it works. Each school is different in the delivery and length of semester. Some colleges have condensed 6-8 week courses to allow a student to take more courses per year. Generally these require constant attention, they cram a full semester of study in to a shorter time. Of course you don't have a commute or other issues requiring your time like child care. Try one and see if this route is for you! www.quickdegree.info

Help With Excelsior Exams

I went to Yahoo Groups the "Distance Education" area and noticed that the Excelsior Exams have many groups devoted to them. Some are strictly for nursing students but many are for any of the exams. I would suggest looking over some of the groups. Getting input from many sources may help your odds of success.

Adult Students

The government printing office has a publication on the alternative ways to earn college credentials at this link. The Quick Degree Info site is far more comprehensive but this document does validate much of the information.

Site Has Been Launched

The site has been launched and it looks like it has gone well, no glitches (yet). When you start looking around www.quickdegree.info and get some ideas of what you'd like to do, consider enrolling in some of the free courses on the related links page. It will give you a good foundation for online learning processes without an initial monetary investment. Looking forward to working with everyone that visits th site.

Launch Date

The site is scheduled to launch next week if all goes as expected. I hope this will be a resource to everyone that thinks earning a college degree while working is not attainable. I hope to inspire and encourage you to get started working toward that goal. I hope to help celebrate your successes and achievements. I especially hope we can develop a supportive enviroment that breeds great success stories.
The name of the site is "Quick Degree", not "Easy Degree" so it will take some work, but I know that it is worth it! Welcome to all those who join the conversation I hope you go away with a new sense of purpose and a strong set of goals.
